As the on- going 2012 edition of African Cup of Nations, AFCON, entered the third day, the tournament is becoming more interesting as all the participating teams are determined to prove their worth/mantle.

Based on the outcome of matches played so far, many followers of the tournament have concluded that, there are no more underdogs in African football.

Most of the teams regarded as underdogs have through their performance shown that those who underrate them do so at their peril.

A particular example is match between Zambia and Senegal. Many people expected Senegal to have a field day over Zambia. However, the reverse was the case.

Again, if not for mother luck, championship’s favourite, Cote d’Ivoire would not have won Sudan. The wonderful performances displayed by Zambia and other ‘smaller teams’ have left many wondering who may eventually emerge the champion.
