Acting President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari has been elected as the substantive President of the football house in an election conducted on Thursday, August 26, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, the nation's capital city.
Alhaji Maigari secured a landslide victory in an election that included other top contenders like Alhaji Shehu Dikko, Chief Oyuike Obaseki, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, Lumumba Adeh and Alhaji Sani Toro.
Alhaji Maigari who was the former chairman of the finance committee of the Sani-Lulu board polled a total of thirty-one votes closely followed by Sani Toro who got five votes, while Alhaji Dikko got two votes.
Mr. Frank Ndubuoke recorded one vote, while Chief Segun Odegbami and Dr. Tijani Yusuf did not record any vote at all. Alhaji Maigari, who has been at the helm of affairs at the football house in an interim capacity since the impeachment of the former President, Sani Lulu becomes the 38th President of the Football Federation founded in 1945.
