LANKY 25-year-old golfer from Kaduna State, Ahmed Jibril, yesterday emerged the overall best gross winner of the Daily Trust Golf Open tournament, held at the Kano Golf Club.


Jibril holed 156 to clinch the trophy in the Category 1 (Amateur 0-9), while "Mudi Badawa from Kano settled for the second position as he holed 142 to emerge best net in the same category.


After carding 173, Danladi Ado became the best gross in Category 2, while Solomon hit 148 to emerge best net in the same category.


Another golfer from Kano Ishaq Shuiabu scored 198 to top Category 3 (20-28), while Hamza Turawa settled for the best net prize with 149.
