Runner Folashade Abugan is now the third Nigerian athlete to fail a drugs test at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Delhi, officials said Friday.

Abugan, who waived the right to have her B sample analyzed, was stripped of the silver medal she won in the 400m event and also the relay silver medal won by the Nigerian team, the Commonwealth Games Federation said in a statement.

Abugan tested positive for testosterone prohormone, prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) the federation said.

'The federation court has determined that Ms Abugan had committed an anti-doping rule violation. Consequently, she has been disqualified from all events she participated in during the Games, with the results nullified,' it said in a statement.

'This includes her silver medal in the women's 400 metres. As she was also a member Nigeria's second placed 4x400 metre relay team, that result is also nullified,' it said.

India won the 4x400m relay race. England was promoted to silver, while Canada received the bronze medal.

Earlier, Osayemi Oludamola was stripped of her gold medal in the 100 meters after testing positive for methylhexanamine, a banned stimulant.

Hurdler Samuel Okon, who did not win a medal, also tested positive for a banned substance.

Indian race walker Rani Yadav was the other athlete to return a positive dope result. She tested positive for the banned steroid nandrolone after finishing sixth in the 20-kilometer walk of the games which ended Thursday.
