Ghanaian soccer fans who will travel to Libya for the African Youth Championship must undergo mandatory AIDS test.

The Libyan Embassy in Ghana wants to instill the new gauge to ensure fans who travel to the Arab state are free from the deadly disease .The precautionary measure is expected to receive wild criticism as it will deepen the stigmatization of people living with the disease.

The African Youth Championship will be held in the North African country from March 18 _1 April.

But already there are concerns about the readiness of the country to host it after anti_government protests rocked the country on Thursday. Ghana won the last edition of the tournament in Rwanda two years ago.
