Anambra State governor, Mr Peter Obi, yesterday presented a budget proposal of N82.5 billion for 2012 to the State’s House of Assembly. This is against the N66.9 billion budgeted for in 2011 and represents an increase of 23.24 percent.
The budget, titled ‘Budget of Integrated Development V’, Obi said was made up of N46.8 billion for capital expenditure and N35.6 billion for recurrent expenditure and noted that the budget was programmed to be a balanced one except for internal and external grants/loans component of the capital receipts which account for 7.27 percent of the total budget size.
The Governor said that the Anambra Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS) remained the pivot on which the administration revolved and was geared towards addressing development problems across all sectors simultaneously.
