Plateau state government has proposed N112.042, 837,199.00 billion in 2012 for both revenue and expenditure as against N86, 561,894,645.00 billion it estimated during 2011 financial year representing 29.44 percent.

Presenting the 2012 appropriation bill before the state House of Assembly yesterday, Governor Jonah David Jang put the estimated revenue for the year 2012 at N 75.3 billion which is made of N46.2 billion from the Federation account, N13.7 billion being internally generated revenue, N4.8 billion re-imbursements, while N4.7 billion represents draw down and N5 billion refunds as well as N919 Million as grants and contributions.

Jang said the 2012 budget is anchored on the ten point’s agenda as well as the three pillar policy of the administration.

In the proposed appropriation bill, the Ministry of Works and Transport is allocated the highest figure of over N17 billion earmarks to carry out constructions of new roads, renovations of some and completion of the on-going ones.

Governor Jang said the budget “will focus on aggressive internal and external revenue drive, mobilization of human and material resources for development. The budget will address the administration’s focus on education, health, water supply and sanitation, agriculture and the completion of on-going projects.
