THE Waziri of Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, has once again demonstrated that he is in control of Kwara State

politics as he said during his 77th birth day, celebrated on Monday, in Ilorin, that if the Nigerian Constitution allowed

a third term, he would have wanted his son, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to continue in office as the governor of the state.

Dr. Saraki, who was overwhelmed by thousands of people, who came out to mark the occasion with him, said he was proud of

his son, Dr. Bukola Saraki, for bringing peace and stability to the state, saying that what the state was witnessing today

was quite different from what was in place before he came on board.

According to him, the governor has showed that he is his true son, as he brought the dividends of democracy to the people

of the state.

He said that the governor was just beginning to understand what politics was, as he called on the Muslim and Christians in

the state to pray for him.

“His tenure will end next year, if only the constitution allowed a third term I would have asked him to go for third term”

he asked.

He appealed to the entire people of the state to give the governor maximum support so that he can complete his tenure

successfully, adding that he was grateful for the total support given to the governor in the last seven years.

The Waziri of Ilorin, who jokingly said he was 27 years of age, noting that what kept him so long on earth that made him

look so young than his age was due to God kindness and the love the entire people of the state has for him.

He assured the people that he would never fail them by the grace of God.

In his speech, the governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, thanked his father for being there for him stressing that he

would never fail him, but will always commend him for bringing him so far.

His words “When the name Kwara State is mentioned you think of Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, the name has become a household

name in Nigeria politics and by the grace of God the name will continue to reign”.

He enjoined the people of the state to always rally round his father saying that the Waziri of Ilorin brought the state in

to a limelight.
