Kebbi Suspends Teachers for Sexual Immorality

Kebbi State Ministry of Education has suspended three male teachers of Government Unity Girls College, Birnin Kebbi for their alleged sexual relationship with their female students.

The affected teachers are Mr. Musa Warah from the Junior Secondary (JS) section; Mr. Lawali Mohammed Argungu and Mr. Tukur Abubakar both from the Senior Secondary (SS) section.

Spokesperson of the ministry, Mr. Abubakar Bunza, in a statement signed on behalf of the Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Yusuf Rokobolu, said the suspension would continue until the committee set up to investigate the matter comes up with an outcome.

According to the statement, "the state ministry of education has suspended the teachers for having an affair with their female students pending the outcome of the investigation of a committee set up by the ministry."

THISDAY also gathered from the ministry that the outcome of the investigation might affect their promotion. However, the affected teachers were not available for comments at the time of filing this report.
