Katsina State government has budgeted N99.9 billion for 2011.
The budget, tagged “Budget of Fulfillment,” is higher than that of 2010 by N7.3 billion.
Governor Ibrahim Shema said it would be sourced from the N52 billion Federal Revenue Allocation and VAT of N5 billion.
Other sources are N6 billion Special Funds, N12.7 billion Internally Generated Revenue, Capital Receipts of N4.2 billion and the opening balance of N20 billion.
Shema said 68 per cent is earmarked for capital projects, while 32 per cent would be spent on recurrent expenditure.
He said the increase in the budget was based on a realistic computation of government’s revenue profiles, both statutory and internal, and other expectations.
