The executive secretaries in the 20 local government areas and the 37 local council development areas in Lagos State have been enjoined to start projects that will benefit the residents of their areas.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Muslim Folami, stated this on Friday during the inspection of some of the ongoing 114 road projects in the 57 councils.

Some of the roads visited by Folami are Onilekere Road in the Ikeja Local Government Area; Abiodun Jagun Street, Ogba, in the Ojodu Local Council Development Area; Mathew Street, Ajegunle, and Olayiwola Street, Iloro, in the Agege LGA; Etal Avenue, in the Onigbongbo LCDA; Bioyin Street, Alakuko, and Ademola Abiola Street in the Ojokoro LCDA; Owodunni Street in the Agbado-Okeodo LCDA; and Fashola Street, Papa Ashafa, in the Orile-Agege LCDA.
Folami noted that the ongoing road projects were part of government’s efforts to make Lagosians enjoy the dividends of democracy.

He said, “There is need for us to monitor all the ongoing 114 roads construction across the state because we want all the contractors handling the projects to adhere strictly to the specifications given to them, which are of international standard.”
