MTN Ghana has shown its affection to the Muslim community by presenting items worth of GH¢ 10,000 to the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu on the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr yesterday in Accra.
The items presented include a cash donation of GH¢ 2,000.00, airtime worth GH¢ 500.00, 15 crates of soft drinks, 3 bags of rice, 2 big gallons of vegetable oil, one ram and assorted MTN souvenirs.
According to the company, the relevance of the celebration is an important occasion, hence the donation to the Muslim community.
It is also the telecom firm's readiness of building relationship which depends on the core values of the company.
The celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr also signifies living in harmony with neighbours and the crucial role tolerance and unity play in development of not only the Muslim but the nation as a whole.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Branch Network Service, Mr. Abubakar Mohammed observed that the management of MTN were delighted to be associated with the celebration of Salafest for the past five years.
"We take this opportunity to appreciate our chiefs and Muslims comrades for their constant support of our business, which has contributed significantly to maintain MTN as the leader in the telecoms industry in the country", he added.
Mr. Mohammed assured the Muslim community of the company's continuous support towards deepening the relationships, and as well providing dependable world class services to meet needs of valued customers.
Receiving the items, the Imam, Dr. Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu called on Ghanaians to use the occasion in creating a good relationship and tolerance among religious beliefs, political parties and race as the country draws closer to the December elections.
Meanwhile, MTN would donate GH¢ 1,000.00, 5 crates of soft drinks and other items to the Ayawaso Council of Zongo Chiefs where the company will be holding a street jam and cultural display at Nima.
