Zain Nigeria, recently bought by Bharti Airtel, has introduced free Short Message Service and lowered tariff for calls made to numbers within (on-net calls) and out of the networks (off-net calls).


A statement on Monday said that these were parts of benefits designed to give its customers more value.


Also, the telecom company has extended the value proposition of one of its offerings, in addition to free weekend call opportunities to the existing five hours of free calls daily.


Under the company‘s newly launched tariff plans, customers who connect to one of the packages, Koolmax, a value-rich offering designed for young and trendy individuals, will have the opportunity to make free calls to a favourite friend on weekends, in addition to enjoying free midnight calls daily between 12 mid-night and 4.30am.


The Head of Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility, Zain Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Oparah was quoted as saying that besides Koolmax package, Zain had also unveiled other tariff offerings tailored to suit the lifestyles, communications needs, aspirations and income levels of telecoms consumers in Nigeria.


Apart from Koolmax package, other newly introduced offerings include Valumax, a package designed for the average Nigerian, an extension of the recently launched pre-paid tariff plan and Zain Step-Up package extension, Step-Up Diamond and Step-up platinum expansion, a premium lifestyle package targeted at medium & high value individuals.


Oparah noted that the new offers have opened a window of opportunity for Nigerians, as every telecoms consumer now have a place on the Zain network.
