MTN Nigeria has announced partnership with Hauwei to up Internet services in the country to launch MiFi.

The African telecommunication giants have introduced a new solution that’ll give its subscribers access to the internet through multiple mobile devices.

The introduction of the new solution, which is called MiFi, is in response to the need to address the issue of multiple mobile data subscription for multiple devices.

MiFi is a mobile broadband modem and a WiFi hotspot all in one device. It’s a unique combination, which gives subscribers the allowance of sharing their network with others; one better than the usual situation where devices required a separate data subscriptions to access the Internet.

According to the company, MiFi will provide a secured WiFi zone for up to five mobile broadband devices when activated, and will give subscribers within the radius of 10 meters Internet access on different broadband devices.

With the introduction of MiFi, devices with only wireless connectivity will enjoy the luxury of internet access once the service has been subscribed for.

The device will boost customer’s convenience and experience in the data space, manager for value added services at MTN, Olabisi Oshinaike said.

“The beauty of this is that, it is portable, can be used on the go and able fill a lot of gaps amongst others for Nigerian Internet users,” Oshinaike added.

Earlier this year, MTN announced that its subscribers' base had reached 40 million active lines in its 10 years of business; making Nigeria the lead across its 21 operational nations.

The group currently has an estimated over 150 million subscribers across its operating countries.
