Software company CA Technologies Tuesday appointed Martin Mackay as the president and general manager of its Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region.

Kenneth Arredondo, who has held this role since 2014, will be taking on a new role within CA Technologies in April 2017, it said in a statement.

The company added that Arredondo would be working with Mackay until the end of March 2017 to ensure a smooth transition for customers, partners and employees.

Mackay will be responsible for driving growth by helping customers and partners leverage new business opportunities in the application economy, and he will be based in Singapore.

He will report directly to Adam Elster, president of CA’s global field operations, according to CA Technologies.

Mackay has nearly 30 years of experience in multiple sectors of the technology industry, and previously led enterprise software, channel and inside sales teams in Europe, the US and APJ.

He held leadership positions in Oracle and Verisign, and has served as a chief executive of Neverfail.

“We are pleased to have an executive of Martin’s caliber join the team. I am confident that Martin will lead this team to new growth and to continue to help our customers and partners leverage IT to transform their business and create lasting value,” Elster said.

With Martin on board, we can further build on the successes that we have achieved, continue to deliver exceptional customer experiences and take CA to new horizons in APJ,” Arredondo said.
