Following a tip-off, crack detectives from Area 'D' Command Mushin, on Wednesday swooped on the Okota-Ejigbo branch secretariat of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) where they allegedly recovered four riffles.

Saturday Champion scooped that four officers of the union (names withheld) were arrested and whisked away by the police over the discovery.

Contacted, the Area Commander Zone 'D' Uwem Akpan confirmed the story, andthe arrest.

The four arrested men according to him, have since been transferred to the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) Ikeja for further investigation.

The commander of SARS, Abak Kyari confirmed the transfer of the four men to squad and assured that investigations into why they were nabbed had started.

A top official of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) at their Cele-Bus Stop along Apapa/Oshodi Express Road who pleaded for anominity described those four members arrested as disgrace to the union.

He alleged that they were working for one 'godfather' (name withheld), urging all well meaning people to call the man to order before he succeeds in turning "Cele" to another Mushin.
