An 11-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl have been found dead in a freezer in a home in Detroit, leading to the arrest of the children's mother.
BBC reports that the unnamed woman was arrested after officials found the dead children inside her freezer, their bodies wrapped in the same plastic bag.
2 of the woman's other children, aged 11 and 17, were found at a neighbour's home and placed in protective custody.
According to neighbour, Tori Childs, the two dead children hadn't been seen for about a year, while other neighbours said the 36-year-old mother was behind on her rent on her 3-bedroom apartment and was "going through some things".
Officials say a post-mortem examination has been scheduled to determine how the children died.
