As part of his efforts to rid Katsina State of the Almajiri syndrome, Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema will, on Friday, commission one of the Makarantun Allo across the three senatorial districts in the state.
A statement signed and made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday by the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Aminu Kado, noted that the Kastina State government had designated 70 integrated Almajiri schools, known as Makarantun Allo, adding that “the designated schools are parts of Governor Shema’s efforts to improve the lives and future of the Almajiris.”
It said pioneer intakes of the designated schools would be provided with three square meals, clothes, with skills acquisition incorporated in their study programme.
Governor Shema will be the special guest of honour while other dignitaries expected at the commissioning include the deputy governor, Barr. Abdullahi Garba Faskari, the Emir of Katsina, HRH Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar faruk umar and Speaker, Katsina House of Assembly, Alhaji Umar Yau Gwajogwajo, Garkuwan Daura.
