The National Association of Anambra State Law Students (NAALS), have described as ‘‘victory to all Anambarians and in particular Anambra students’’ the judgement of the supreme court in upholding the election of Mrs. Margery Chuba Okadigbo as sitting senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Anambra North at the National Assembly.
In a statement signed by the president of the association, comrade Marvelous ofodille and made available to Quadlife in Jos, the association said they were congratulating the senator for her patience in ensuring that the rule of law and due process were followed to the end. ‘’justice no matter how long, will always prevail and Senator Mrs. Okadigbo instead of using threat as commonly seen, resolved to have faith with the judiciary’’.
The association further said the unity of Anambra state which is paramount to the youth for which students constitute the larger percentage and senator Okadigbo as a mother and a public officer, together with her family antecedent in the political echelon of Anambra state, remains a pillar to rally around. We all know women in politics have a passion for youth development, peace, and unity and as a mother, we expect she will be a mother to all Igbos and igbo students in particular.
