Norton Core
What it is: A Wi-Fi router that looks out for hackers and malware

As our homes fill with internet-connected doodads, who’s keeping them safe? Symantec is building cybersecurity right into the Wi-Fi network. The Norton Core router is part of a growing trend of hardware serving as whole-home anti-virus protection against malware, intrusions, botnet attacks and other modern threats to phones, thermostats and even baby monitors. If the Core notices something suspicious, it can immediately quarantine the device and send an alert. It also grades your network with a “security score” to help encourage better practices. The $280 Norton Core is scheduled to ship this summer.
