She was speaking after a man died and 10 people were injured when a man drove a van into worshippers close to the Muslim Welfare House in Finsbury Park.

A white man aged 48 has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said the incident was "quite clearly an attack on Muslims".

She said the community would see more police, including armed officers, in the area, "particularly around religious establishments".

The attack happened shortly after midnight when a group of people helping a man who had collapsed on the pavement were hit by the van.

The man has died, but it is unclear whether this was as a result of the attack.
It is the fourth terror attack in the UK in three months, after incidents in Westminster, Manchester and on London Bridge.
