This was contained in a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Michael Adah, in Lafia, the state capital.

The statement, according said the police detectives attached to Access Bank Plc in Lafia, on December 28, arrested one Theophilus Ogu, who presented a fake $100 for exchange.

Adah said following investigation, four others were arrested with fake $3,000.

He said the police also discovered from the hideout, mercury and other materials used in the production of the fake currencies.

The police spokesman said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation was concluded.
