Mfon Udoh vows to break his 23-goal record

The attacker has disclosed that he wants to score at least a goal in each game for the Elephants of Aba when the season kicks off this weekend

Enyimba international captain, Mfon Udoh has said that his target is to score at least a goal in every game he plays for his side in the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League that commences this weekend.

The 24-year old forward is the all-time highest goal scorer in the NPFL with 23 goals, and he has admitted that he will be glad to surpass that record in the coming league season.

“I always play every game with the intention to score and also to break records, but first of all, I think about the team before myself because the success of the team is my success, but if I can score in every game I play, I will be glad," Udoh told Goal.

“I want to score at least a goal in every match.”

Udoh also assures their fans to expect improved performance from the team, as they have worked hard to perfect the tactics of coach Gbenga Ogunbote, whom he is sure of leading the club back to the summit, where it belong.

“Everybody should expect a very good performance from us this season, we’ve started on a very good now, we are training very well and we understand ourselves, so I believe everything else is in the hands of God.

“The team has blended well because we’ve been working so hard and I believe we are ready for the new season to an extent of readiness, so I think we are ready for the season.

“He is a great tactician who is down to earth and very simple. He knows the principles of the game and I see him succeeding with the club.”

Enyimba will kick off their 2016/17 league season against Sunshine Stars in Port Harcourt on Sunday evening.
