The Federal Government yesterday urged the Swedish business community, especially its telecom firms, to participate in the forthcoming auction of the 2.6gigahertz (GHz) spectrum by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Minister of Communications Technology, Adebayo Shittu, sho spoke while granting audience to a Swedish business delegation led by the Swedish Minister of Trade and European Union (EU) Affairs, Ms Ann Linde, also said the country’s investment climate has improved tremendously to warrant global investors.

He said the country would adopt the knowledge-based mechanism deployed by Sweden to develop its Information Communications Technology (ICT) sector to create jobs for youths.

Shittu said given the improved business environment, several investors have been in the country and many more are on their way to the country because of the safe business environment provided by President Muhammadu Buhari. “Nigeria is safe for investors and return on investment (RoI) is assured; our regulatory processes are open, effective and transparent,” he said.
