Virgil van Dijk beat Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to claim the men’s UEFA Player of the Year award.

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has been crowned the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year for his performances during the 2018/19 Champions League.
